Acting:
(vt.) – performing
in a play, film,
etc.; playing a role
Brenda
had earned the lead
in her junior and
senior high school
plays, a good start.
While living in
South Florida in the
1980s she did runway
and print modeling
and even an episode
of Miami Vice. But,
her life long desire
to be a professional
actress was finally
fulfilled in 2000
when she auditioned
for her first
commercial and got
it! Now with a long
resume of
Commercials,
Industrial Films,
Movie Trailers, Film
and Television,
Brenda has achieved
a level of success
that she had only
hoped for.
She
appeared in HBO’s
“The Wire” as Mayor
Carcetti’s secretary
Kate Hale. Her
ability to become
the person she
portrays is evident
in all her
characters,
especially in
comedic parts. Her
training in
Improvisational
Comedy helped her to
“think on her feet”.
It also helped to
develop characters
that she was able to
portray on stage. In
the summer of 2007,
she worked with
director Phedon
Papamicheal. That
same summer Brenda
wrote, produced and
stared in her first
Movie Short. The
film is called “To
Make A Long Story
Short,” which high
lights her comedic
ability through two
very funny
characters. Brenda
is not afraid to
make strong choices
and her level of
professionalism
makes her a pleasure
to work with as an
actress. Currently
she is studying with
Donna Marrazzo.
Comedy:
(n.) – entertainment
causing an audience
to laugh.
Brenda’s comedic
career started in
elementary school,
when her parents;
Harry and Bernice,
became her first
material. With the
addition of physical
attributes such as
pale white skin,
large ears, chicken
legs and boney
knees, Brenda’s
Physical Comedy was
in full swing. Fast
forward to Junior
High and High School
and her
underdeveloped chest
added to the overall
comedic look.
As an
Adult, Brenda has
found comedy in
everyday life.
Whenever she is
sunning herself by a
pool inevitably
someone will ask,
“You are so fair
skinned, are you
wearing sunscreen?
Her response is “No,
I do not wear
sunscreen, I reflect
the sun.” She also
hears, “You are so
pale, you must
really burn!” Her
answer, “No I have
not spontaneously
combusted in years.”
Now,
Brenda has come into
her Bust Size and
her Comedy Career
with a vengeance.
Starting with
Stand-up comedy and
a very successful
run as an Improv
Performer with Del.
Comedy Theatre, her
experience has
brought her to
comedic acting. Look
out Lucy!
Voiceovers:
(n.) – the voice of
an off-screen
narrator, or
announcer.
Seeing
Is Believing. But to
the human ear, the
voice can be just as
convincing.
Brenda’s voiceover
skills are just that
convincingly
believable,
influencing people
with her voice. She
can get your message
across while
comforting,
informing, exciting
or inspiring the
audience.
Print: Expression on
Paper
From corporate to
casual Brenda’s
ability to convey a
message on paper
comes across. Brenda
makes the day of
work fun and
comfortable for the
photographer and the
client. As in her
Acting and Comedy,
she brings a level
of professionalism
that is sometimes
considered rare in
the working world
today.
